Post Lockdown COVID Secure Arrangements in Our Church Services

Update to the arrangements in our places of worship

This is an update regarding our local churches’ arrangements for services taking place in our buildings in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the pandemic reached our shores in 2020 as a church community we too have been impacted by the loss of our loved ones to the virus.  Prior to reopening our buildings, we took steps to ensure that our places of worship were as COVID-secure as they could be.

Condolences

We wish to acknowledge those who have passed in the years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, both from the virus and other causes, and extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of all those who have lost loved ones during this period.  Our prayers go out to all those suffering loss.

In-person Services

Our church buildings have all reopened following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and in-person services are taking place.  Our reopened buildings underwent COVID-secure risk assessments with safeguards in place to minimise the risk of spreading the coronavirus infection. These include hand sanitisers and additional cleaning between services.

Please note that there may be some individuals in attendance at services who wish to maintain social distance from others and we would ask other attendees to respect this.

Face coverings are no longer required by law to be worn in places of worship, but are optional should attendees wish to wear one.

Anyone displaying symptoms of respiratory infections, including COVID-19 or flu should avoid attending a place of worship due to the risk that they may pose to others.  They can gain remote access to services via live streaming, Zoom or other online platforms.

For more details on the symptoms of respiratory infections and what to do if you have these symptoms please visit the GOV.UK website

Hybrid Services

Some of our churches have hybrid services with some attendees participating in person and others watching online.  Some churches may have returned to in-person services on a Sunday but have opted to keep some of their other services online for the time being.

Please contact each local church for details of in-person services or for details of online access to services.

We look forward to seeing visitors in our services, either in person or online and continue to look to God who is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1)
